explorers of everyday happy

We are full-time explorers of everyday happy. We find our inspiration everywhere, from weather-worn cabins, to fruit stand signage, to hand-drawn posters, to giggles overheard at coffee shops. We collect every scrap of smile, LOL and kindness that we come across in our journey and smoosh it all into our work to create products with a quirky, fun, imperfectly human aesthetic and a voice that sounds like a friend.

Hand-drawn fonts

Our fonts are inspired by signage we find along our travels. We photograph the found letters and then hand-draw our own full alphabet inspired by the shapes, spacing and arrangement.

imperfect aesthetic

Our aesthetic is imperfectly human. We favor hand-cut edges, oddly balanced layouts and randomness. We lay out all of our designs by hand before going to the computer so we won’t be tempted by the perfection of technology. Because perfection is sooo boring.

In front of the building, there is a grassy yard with some yellow flowers, and a bush with purple flowers on the left. A large tree is behind the building, with power lines above.

awkward color

We pull our color palettes from real life. The world is full of unexpected, perfectly awkward color combos that make you go, “Huh…that actually works,” and we love to add that surprise and delight to our work.

a voice like a friend

We listen. We listen for words that make humans light up, phrases that make them giggle and sentiments that foster connection. We scribble them all down and use the flavor to create copy for our art. The result? A voice that sounds like a friend.
